Apprenticeship Level 6 (Bachelors degree)

Develop practical and academic knowledge, and find unexpected talents inside yourself.  As an Ordnance, Munitions & Explosives (OME) Apprentice, you’ll gain valuable skills and a degree in a team with an international reputation.

Through a mix of academic learning and practical work, you’ll help us tackle projects that help to protect the UK. Our work supports the Home Office, MOD, National Crime Agency, Army, Navy and other government departments, and covers Energetic Technologies, Energetics Analysis and Policing & Security. In other words, you could be looking at anything from the threats posed by different weapons, to explosive detection to forensic investigation. Over the course of the apprenticeship, you’ll take one of four pathways – Technical, Safety, Breakdown & Disposal or Test & Evaluation – based on your natural skills.

We’re looking for five 4-9 (A*-C) Grade GCSEs or equivalent, including English and Maths, as well as three A-Level standard, or equivalent qualifications, in Mathematics and at least one further STEM-based subject. But it’s a passion for engineering and technology that will prove essential.

Our talented people have built an enviable reputation for innovating world-class science and technology.
